Max Payne 2 High Compressed 10Mb PC Games has been developed by Rockstar Studios, an American video game developer known for the Grand Theft Auto series. The story takes place in New York City during the aftermath of a gang war in 1999. After being framed for murder by Mona Sax, Max Payne is on the run from both his former colleagues and also Mona herself. Max Payne 2 is classified as a First Person Shooter but it also includes elements of Shoot 'Em Up, Role Playing Game and Adventure Game genres. There are four different difficulty settings to choose from which will increase or decrease the amount of enemies present in each level. Max Payne 2 High Compressed 10Mb PC Games follows a linear gameplay structure which means that each level is played in a pre-determined order. The story is told through Cut Scenes which are also called "Cinematics" and by Max's inner monologues that occur during gameplay.
In the story, Max Payne is trying to find out who framed him for the murder of a family. He is a veteran police officer and an expert in shooting techniques, he has been able to take his own pain and use it as extra power to defeat his opponents. During the investigation, Max will have to defeat several opponents, including former colleagues who want him dead because they think he has betrayed them. The game has received favourable reviews from critics. Aggregating review websites GameRankings and Metacritic gave the Xbox version 84.08% and 84/100 and the PlayStation 2 version 84.75% and 83/100 and the PC version 81.70% and 82/100. "Max Payne 2" was nominated for four IGN awards: Best PC Game, Best Shooter, Best Soundtrack (for "Nostalgia Critic Presents: Drunk Tank 9000") and Best FMV (for "Killer Buds"). However, the game lost all four awards to "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" in 2009; it went on to win the award for "Best PC Game". Rockstar Games has responded to criticism of the PlayStation 2 version by announcing that they would not bring the game to the platform again. This was in response to complaints about the audio, frame rate, loading times and controls. "Max Payne 2" was a commercial success, selling 2.4 million copies in its first 10 days of release. It went on to become one of Rockstar's best-selling titles ever.
The PC version of "Max Payne 2" was slightly better on Metacritic, receiving a score of 81 out of 100, while the original Xbox version received a score of 76.
